Well, life is going great here in the Lindstrom house! We've been having all sorts of fun out side and playing with friends.
Yesterday we had our first Memorial Day BBQ! It was awesome! I so can't wait to have MANY more. It was fun to get friends together, eat good food and let the kids have fun together. Us girls snuck down stair to play "just dance" and "Micheal Jackson" on the Wii! It was a lot of fun.
Our chickens are getting a lot bigger, I'll have to take a picture to show everyone.
A few weeks ago, the hubby and I had our 5th wedding anniversary. We didn't do much on the day, but we're going to have a fun weekend, coming up. My awesome sis-in-law is going to watch the boys for a day while we escape and have some fun together.
I marvel at how truly blessed I am with all the family and friends around me. So many people to laugh with and lean on. I am blessed.
Right now, we are preparing for another trip!! We're (my 2 boys and I) are going to Cali for a week. I wish it was longer, but this is all we could squeeze in! Thayden asks me everyday if we're going to go get the Spiderman fishing pole yet! Today he got is 2 backpacks full of toys(mostly blocks) and his hat and was waiting by the back door to go!!AHH!!! it was sooooooooooo cute! I told him we had to pack our clothes first and make some food for daddy before we could leave. Needles to say, he was still devastated.

Spring

So, the weather has been super crazy here. It was nice, then snowed, then cloudy, windy, more snow and then sun. I wish spring would just get here.
Our main computer had senior moment last week, so we are using my old one (from when I was 16!), so I don't have any pictures to show. Bummer. But I can tell a little of whats going on around here!
Our chicks are growing like weeds, I can't believe we've had them almost 2 weeks.
Blake is finally really getting to walking. He decided to take a break, and now he's back on walking again.
The garden area gets progressively better every moment I steal to get to it. Since the weather has been chilly, the boys don't last long outside.
Shane is still super intent on getting his motorcycle, so we are looking at them.
And I'm thinking about starting up baking classes. I've been loving baking bagels, bread, muffins and all sort of things. I really think I want to start offering classes!
Well that's all from here, can't wait for the warm weather this weekend! wahoo!!!

Some new things of late...

Well, yesterday Blake decided he'd give walking a try! It was a little sudden and really fun to see his face. He's been walking on anything that will stand still, and some that doesn't, for a while now. Yesterday Daddy got home early and we all got to play together. Shane stood Blake up and he walked over to me!!! He will be 10 month next week, so its time, but he was just so at ease with it, it was funny!
We had a great visit from my in-laws last week, they helped us replace almost ALL the carpet in our house!!!!!!!!!! It looks soooo good now, and no more old basement smell.
One of the pictures is Blake trying to 'tuck' the carpet. He was watching everyone else do it and so he thought he should too!! That day was long, but so great to have so much family here to help.
The weather has been so sporadic, I just can't wait til I can start getting the garden area ready and start planting. I have so many plans for this summer!!
Its March, so I know there's not too much time until I can start sporting shorts again!!!!!!
Things are progressively getting better, and I'm hopeful for all the things to come!

Oh I am so embarrassed!

Ok, so I promise I have been thinking about updating for a loooooooooooong time! Life have been super crazy (as usual) and I am super embarrassed that I haven't updated in 3 months!
Ok, so we have moved twice since last time. We are now in Utah, near Salt Lake. We are renting a super cute little home and are able to do some of the fix ups!
Blake is now 6 months, almost 7! He rolls everywhere, but can't seem to get the crawling thing down yet. He gets where he wants an thats all that matters.
Thayden is growing in leaps and bounds. He is potty training, (almost there!) and we are constantly amazed by how much he understands. the long conversations that happen sometimes are quite amusing! He certainly loves the snow now and tries to make snow men. Building "bird houses" (fortes) are our favorite pass time activity right now.
I am busy busy unpacking things. I'm amazed that we have almost enough stuff to fill the house with the exception of storage! I'm trying to find inexpensive bookshelves and such to put all of our things on. It is so nice to be able to have all of our stuff in one place, and I know where most of it is! The boys love having all this room to roam and play.
Shane continues to work hard. Christmas time is the busiest, so we don't see him too much right now. These hours remind me of APX summers, which totally bite but at least I know how to handle them!

My little side "job" so to speak is the selling of odds and ends at Shane's work. I am going to post all the items that I'm selling for them. Everything is very competitively priced and really we just want to sell them and get the space! His work as exxxcellent shipping rates, so I can ship anything super cheap. I'll give more info on the blog.
Hope you all are having a great holiday season. As for me I can't wait to get into full Christmas gear!!!!!!!!!

So much has gone on in our little family over the past few months. Blake is now 3 months old and quickly growing out of most his clothes here. Thayden is 2 and a little ball of energy, his newest obsession is jumping everywhere!
We've been trying to stay busy and keep out of the heat. Thanks to Sireena for lots of pictures and fun time with her family.
Shane is doing well, the summer is coming to a close which is a relief b/c we're both ready to be back home. He however will stay here a month and I will head to Wa to escape insanity and help out. I can't wait to can anything that won't move and let Thayden play outside whenever he wants to.
I'm looking forward to this fall's activities and all the fun I hope to have!

We're here in super sunny South Carolina. Here's a little update on whats been going on:
Blake is now almost 6 weeks and definitely over 10 lbs. He's getting big and chunky fast! I forgot this stage and there have been some tricky moments, but I'm learning everyday. The toughest part is bedtime with no daddy around. Putting them both to sleep at the same time (by Blake's wishes) makes it a little challenging.
Thayden is almost 2! I'm slowly working on the party plans and thinking of fun stuff for it. He decided 2 weeks ago that he wanted to potty train. Trying to potty train an almost 2 year only and having a new born is a whole new world of mommy-hood. He's doing well, and still doing it at his own pace.
We're moving the office in <2 weeks. Which means we have to pack everything up again! Luckily we picked up a small beater van for me for the summer and we can through it all in there. The van is a heaven send, I don't feel as trapped and I can now go do all the fun stuff around here!
Shane and I are doing well, we had our anniversary almost a month ago and have been so busy or he's been gone, that we have yet to do anything! Shane spent 1 1/2 weeks gone for work, it was long, but they did pretty well.
Its now almost 100 degrees outside and thunderstorming. Almost an oxymoron. I should probably get off the computer and go play before its noticed I'm gone!

I want to announce the birth of Blake Ronald Lindstrom, born May 6th. 8lbs 3oz. He's such a sweet heart and a wonderful little boy. We've been super busy, in the span of 4 days we had Blake, moved to SC and Shane started work.
I'm here trying to adjust to the heat and having two kids. Luckily I have my mother-in-law here to help and we are able to get lots done. Shane has been super busy from the hour he got here. Work is crazy and really busy, so we haven't seen him as much as I would like. But him being busy is a great thing!
I'm learning quickly about being a mom of two and how to handle everything!

So, I'm about a week out from my due date. No real news other than I'm still pregnant! I'm still hoping I have the baby sooner than late due to all the plans and activities we have going on in the near future!
Things have been super fun here. I've completed several over due projects and tasks. Thayden LOVES playing with the chickens and going for rides on the four-wheeler. He thinks he can drive, and he maybe could if he was strong enough! Its really fun having all this stuff for him to do. We went to the Children's Museum on Monday and he had so much fun he could barely contain himself! There was a little grocery market, construction zone, hiking mountain, fire truck, and lots more. It wasn't too crowded, so we got to do whatever he wanted. He crashed on the way home and thought he was ready for more after an only 30 minute nap!
Not much else, just waiting for baby! Send positive baby thoughts my way!

Its my party!!

Had my 23rd b-day party on Monday. it was a lot of fun, exactly what I wanted. I invited some friends over, we chatted, ate ice cream cake and laughed. Thayden decorated my cake with lots of sprinkles, it was really fun having him do it.

Shane and were able to go out on Saturday, we went to Thai food and then got my free cold stone ice cream!! We had a great time out, and I loved being able to spend time with him. It was a fantastic birthday! (truthfully with all that's going on I forgot a lot that it was my birthday!)

Here are pictures of my latest project.

I got the idea from my sis-in-law. This is the boy version, I have a girl version that I used for my b-day but I didn't take a picture.
Directions:
For Happy Birthday you need 14 "coupled" 6x12 pieces of paper. I cut mine out on my new Cricut (thanks Linda!). "Coupled" meaning, a print for the front and a plain piece for the back.
I cut my big squares out with "Plantin Schoolbook" at 5" shadow. and the smaller squares are 4 3/4. I used my corner edge trimmer to make the corners rounded.

The letters are 4 1/4 shadow (in white) and then not shadow for the color. I used the same paper for the back of my squares for the letters. it saved me paper and I used pretty much all of the 6x12. The letter cartridge is Alphabilious.
I love it. I'm now doing a "its a boy" sign for a baby shower and me!

Having fun

Only 5 weeks of the semester left! I'm so excited! 8 weeks until number 2 is to join us, and we are so anxious. Lots to do before then, I find myself getting overwhelmed if I think too hard about all that needs to be done, thought of, planned for and taken care of before more things can happen. We are still thinking that we're going to South Carolina for the summer, with no job offers, this would be our best choice.
Shane is doing great, he's not as busy as we both thought, but still enough so that I miss him a lot by Fridays.
Thayden is my master Houdini. He can escape from his crib, take all of his clothes off including the diaper, and find mysterious things in the house. Every day is such a learning opportunity, we both are finding out what works best.
I'm still getting big, I can't believe that I'm still going to get bigger, I'm having a hard time doing many things already, I can't believe its going to get worse! I've been wanting to do crafts so bad lately, its just difficult with Thayden. when he's asleep I need to get other things done or I'm just too tired. ahhh. a little frustrating. Thayden is a huge help doing laundry, dishes and making meals. Today he asked me for a hair cut! I couldn't believe it, but I wasn't going to pass up the opportunity. so, he got a little hair cut, it was fun! Our March is already getting busy, as it is the last full month we will be here (hallelujah!).
I'm missing my family lots, I'm so excited for the day to be closer. Things are good for now, every day is different. Can't wait to have us both be college grads!

First day of Nursery

Ok, so this is a little late, but I wanted to put it in there. Thayden has been having a rough time in nursery the past 3 weeks, he's just not used to us not being there. We work in the senior nursery, but we really want Thayden to get used to being with other kids without mommy and daddy. He's fallen asleep in there the past 2 weeks since it is the normal 2 hours of his nap time. He's getting used to it, and only a few more weeks 'til we change times. I think he'll get the hang of it soon.

Well, we're still busy here in Idaho. Lots to get done, plan and prepare for. We still might be going to South Carolina for the summer with APX again. Not sure, I'm still hoping for a job for Shane.
In the mean time, Thayden and I are finding new and creative ways to fill our days and allow daddy to do homework. Things are good, I'm really feeling pregnant. I'm anxious for this baby to come and get our lives going outside of Rexburg!

The Harvest Party

So I know I'm waaaaaaaaaaaaaaay behind on my blogging. Here's an event that happened at the end of October. We had a Harvest Party with all my husbands family and my parents. My parents were able to come up to Seattle and we had a great time eating lots of good food and driving four-wheelers.
Luckily the weather was good so we could have lots of fun outside. We made a little Carnival for the grandkids, we dressed up and played all sorts of games.

A very busy 2 months

Ok, well we've been here almost 2 months and I feel like we are just slowing down. Life has been crazy with canning, Dr's appointments and lots in between. I've been helping to can things from pie filling to enchillada sauce. I've learned a ton and can't wait to keep learning more about it!
I'm feeling pretty good now. I'm 12 weeks and I'm starting to feel a lot less nauseous. This makes playing with Thayden so much more fun. Thayden is getting even bigger. He's trying so hard to talk, he says a few fun things. I even taught him how to say stinky; he waves his had in front of his face and goes "sssssssss." It's pretty fun to watch.
Things are going pretty well, Shane love his internship and I love being able to stay home and learn with Thayden.
Today should be a pretty busy day full of fixing cars, getting wood and working on the house. Ohh yah, thats what we've been doing too. Working on remodeling the house still! We never have a dull moment at the Lindstrom house. I wouldn't have it any other way.

So, our bags are packed, stuff washed, everything broken down, it looks like we're moving again!! In just a few hours Shane will pack up the car and head out West! I'm super excited to be leaving and to have a husband again. This year seems to have taken a lot out of me. I feel like Shane was gone a lot more than previous APX years.
Any who, he will be on the road nice and early tomorrow and I'll be hanging here in an empty apartment. It'll be a challenge, with no kitchen stuff, only things out of my suitcase!! It'll be a great adventure.
I can't wait to get to Salt Lake on Saturday, Rexburg for a few days after that and then onto Seattle!!! wahooooo!!!
I'll keep you updated with all the new stuff!

Myrtle Beach

We went to Myrtle Beach this past weekend. My mom and I left on Friday morning, and got there around 4:30. Soon after I called Shane to describe how beautiful this place was, and 4 hours later he showed up to our door step! It was a great surprise, he took two days off work and we had a wonderful long weekend.
The condo was right on the beach, we just took an elevator down stairs and walked right onto the beach! The sand was soft and warm, the breeze cool and the water perfect! I was so amazed at how great the water felt, especially being from the West coast. Shane and Thayden had a great time playing in the sand, digging holes and "boogie boarding" together.
We ate a few great places, learned a lot about what to and not to do. This may be a place we come back to regularly, especially because the beach rivals Hawaii at over half the price!
Luckily there were no sunburns, just lots of freckles! I got to wear my new hat and I loved every minute of it. I'm so glad we all got to go on a little family vacation before we leave the East coast.

Birthday Gifts

I forgot to add some pictures of Thayden's gifts for his first birthday.
Mamaw and pop-pops got him a great car garage, Thayden has a lot of fun making the elevator go up and down. Please excuse the bare bum, its the only picture I have of him playing with it!
Grandma Lindstrom made him a really cool robe! He'll be able to wear if for a while!
We decided to get him alphabet blocks, I can't tell who likes them more: Shane loves to build and Thayden likes to knock it down!

Three 1st Birthdays!

Thayden is such a special little boy. He was able to have not just one, but THREE 1st birthdays! One with Grandma Silvia, another with Mamaw, Pop-pops, aunt Jennie and kids, and then a third with Shane, me and friends! It was really fun to have all these little parties to celebrate a wonderful child.
Thayden was on a week long sugar high, but it was really fun. I think by the 3rd time he knew what was going on and he was a lot more comfortable. It was really fun letting him have at the cake and seeing what was going to happen. Like I said, by the 3rd time he was having lots of fun!
We are so blessed to have all this family and these friend to help celebrate a child of God. I feel so blessed everyday that I have Thayden and I still can't seem to wrap my head around all that has happened in a year(+ a week). We thank everyone for the presents, and love that surrounds him! I officially have a toddler!

Jelly Beans

While in California, Thayden was introduced to a wonderful little candy called Jelly Beans. My dad always has some lying around, Thayden found a little container of them and was immediately intrigued. Of course his Pop-pops had to show him what was inside and the most curious candy around.

Summer Vacation 2009

This was the 2^nd year my family did a reunion at Greagle in northern California. Thayden and I flew into Reno, he did great but the time change was a little hard on him. We had lots of fun though playing in the dirt, on the porch, going swimming and eating lots of food. It took a while for Thayden to warm up to any one else, he would cry if he couldn’t see me which made doing almost anything very difficult. Thayden loved having other kids to play with, I think it was a new experience having kids that were bigger than him! Thayden’s cousin Tyler who is 2 months older was Thayden’s best friend. They played and did lots of mischievous things together; I think I see a great friendship forming!

After Greagle we had a long drive back home where we all stopped for IN-N-OUT burger!! I was super happy to stop and this was Thayden’s first time enjoying the fantastic burgers.

Two hours after getting home from Greagle, the missionaries were supposed to come over for dinner!! I had the most brilliant plan in the world for dinner, I have to share! After a wonderful course of American Tacos, we had pudding cups with whipped cream on top! I thought that was shear gourmet genius!

It was pretty fun having all 4 of the grandbabies under one roof, they really got to play and hang out together. Thayden and I went over to my mom’s were we went to Monterey and Santa Cruz, it was beautiful and really fun.

Thayden had his first time at the beach in Monterey, we put our feet in the water and played with the sand. I had wished Shane could have been there, but we’ll just have to go to another beach together.

The 4^th of July weekend was crazy! We went to a baseball game with almost the whole family. My brother-in-law treated his clients to a local baseball game and a buffet dinner. I was really unsure at first how it was going to play out not having very much room for Thayden to roam and knowing that we were going to be there pretty late. All in all, it worked out really well. He walked around, played, then Tyler and him fell asleep in the stroller while Jennie and I talked. I think walking around was one of my favorite times of my whole vacation. After the game there was an enormous fireworks show over the river that was next to the stadium. I still can’t believe that Thayden slept through the whole thing!

Saturday we went to a pancake breakfast and helped getting everything ready for the big 4^th of July party at my sister’s house! It was kind of crazy with all the people and kids, I’m sure Thayden was a bit over whelmed, however he handled it well.

The next few days are still a blur. I remember having Thayden’s 1^st birthday party at my moms. We had mayonnaise cake, which is one of my favorites, so I loved it and I know Thayden did also! Tuesday we went to the Monterey Aquarium with Jennie and kids, Linda and us. It was really nice having the season pass because we weren’t rushed to see everything thing. Thayden’s favorite part was the splash zone designed just for kids his age. He splashed in water with fake fish, rolled in the “ocean” (a water bed) and played with blocks. We all had a great time and the soaked clothes could prove it!

That night we had Thayden’s next birthday party in which we had an enormous ice cream filled cupcake! I’m sure Thayden didn’t know what to think of it at first, but once he got passed the shock he loved it. I’m sure my son in on a permanent sugar high from all the sweets we’ve been having for his birthday.

Wednesday was really sad; we left for the airport about noon and boarded about an hour later. I’m pretty upset with the last few days of my vacation; I had 3 days of crying. I cried when I left my mom’s on Monday, when my sister left on Tuesday and when I left my dad and Linda on Wednesday. No fair, your only allowed 1 day of crying, not THREE!

The 2 flights getting home were great. Thayden was such a wonderful little boy, we played with toys, and other kids sitting near us. I really liked sitting near the back of the plane because everyone else with kids was back there and the back area was great to stand up in. Thayden even slept for an hour on the 2^nd flight making the time go by so much faster.

I have to thank Tabatha for picking us up from the airport since Shane got a job 20 minutes before he would come to get us. When we got home, Shane went straight to Thayden’s door, it was fun seeing the huge smile on Thayden’s face when he saw his daddy. We both missed Shane a lot and were very grateful to be home.

Thayden and I were both worn out from the trip and slept most of the next day. I’m glad I went, but being a single mom for 2 weeks was difficult. That time made me so grateful for my husband and the life we have. I’m already excited for next year and hoping that Shane will be able to join us. It’ll be really fun!

Ok, so I'm back now from my wonderful adventures in California. However, I don't yet have the energy or time to tell you all about everything as it is Thayden's 1st birthday tomorrow!! Yahhh!! I still can't believe that this time last year life was so much different.
California was great, a challenge and a well needed change of pace. I miss my family terribly already, but I'm learning to be grown up about it and hoping our future takes us much closer.
I will tell you all about the plane rides, Greagle, 1st baseball game, 4th of July, aquarium and lots more.

Well, my bags are packed, kitchen cleaned, food cooked, and laundry done...Off for a great adventure to CALIFORNIA!! Thayden and I are leaving this afternoon and will be in Reno, NV tonight. My family started doing a "family reunion" every year, this is our second one and SOOOO much different than the first. Last year my sister had just had a baby and I was due in 3 weeks. Needless to say this will be so much fun having all these kids. I'm really excited for Thayden to spend time with his Pop-pops, since we don't get to see hime much. I've always been really close to my dad and I really want my kids to be also. It'll be fun watching them go chase bugs and play in the fields. These next 2 weeks mean so much to me. As much as I truly love my whole family (in-laws too!) there is nothing like the bond I have with my dad. It really makes me sad that we aren't closer and able to be around my family more, but I know we are were we are supposed to be and doing what is needed.
This will be so much fun and I can't wait to share stories and pictures!

Berry Picking!

Last week we went strawberry picking! It was really nice to get out and see all the green and smell the fresh air. We got there relatively early, but by the end it was hot! I think Thayden ate more dirt than berries, but it was really fun watching him try to get them off the bushes.

The farm had some other great produce and we're going back this next week to get some corn!! My favorite! I'm so excited for the day when I can have my own garden and grow tons of great food.

We went to the Botanical Gardens here in Greensboro, NC. It was the perfect morning, overcast and not too hot. By the end we were all melting, but it was a lot of fun. Sireena did such a great job getting great pictures of Thayden. I bet the other park people thought we were crazy with all the silly noises we had to make to get Thayden to laugh! It was a great little outing for the family and with Sireena's family!

I can't wait to do Thayden's 1 year and family pictures in about 6 weeks! Ahhh!! Crazy! Enjoy the pictures.

His first hair cut!

So, I know Thayden doesn't look like he has a lot of hair, but in the back its another story!! Yesterday he wore a collared shirt and his hair was past the collar! As its been getting longer its been getting curly! He totally has Pop-pop's hair!! Its soooo funny!! Not much on top and lots around the edges!

Anyways, this morning we gave Thayden his first hair cut. It was a little crazier than when I do Shane's but it was still fun.

Tuesday morning was like any other. The weather was cool, Thayden and I had breakfast, it was a normal morning. While sitting at the computer, I had the brilliant idea to go to the ZOO!! I quickly text Sireena upstairs to see if she's in, and we make a quick plan to meet in 30 minutes! At 9:05 we roll out of the apartment complex on our way to the zoo. The little boys slept peacefully for the 30 minute drive. Thayden woke up as we parked the car!

Since the husband's had to be to a meeting at 1, this was going to be a speedy zoo trip. We were in the "Africa" part of the zoo for almost 2 hours. By the end, we were all ready to go home.

It wasn't the most impressive zoo ever, but we had fun on a new adventure. Thayden didn't seem too interested in the animals, but seeing him walk around was pretty fun.

Last week most of the APX wives in our office went to the carnival. It was small and had little for us to do, but the outing was fun. We had lots of babies and little kids to play with and watch on rides. Thayden went on his first Merry-go-Round ride. He wasn't sure what to think of it at first, but the safety of mommies arms helped. Here are some pictures from our adventure!

Well, our little boy is growing up! He is still not sure what he's doing and looks like a drunken sailor, but its sooooooooooo cute.

This is probably the best video we've gotten of him so far. He's so easily distracted that it makes it both easier and harder! I can't believe we're getting close to him being 10 months, then 1 year is right around the corner.

Before!

After!

Well, we are here in North Carolina. We just got internet this morning, so I wanted to update everyone on what has been going on!
A week and a half ago I GRADUATED! It was a great weekend, full of lots of family and fun times. My mom, dad, step-mom, sister with family, mother-in-law and “aunt” all came up for a great time. We had a huge dinner with everyone; it was so special because everyone that I cared so much about was at the table. I did miss Jeff and Becky and the rest of Shane’s family, but it was a good start! One of the best parts of the weekend was eating this MONSTEROUS chocolate dessert for my dinner!

Shane left the next morning to drive with his brother to NC. Half way through Saturday, someone hit Devin on the freeway!! Anyways, it took like 3 hours out of their drive time. No one was injured; it was just a major hassle for them both.
I went down to UT on Sunday morning with my parents, it was really fun having a drive with them and Thayden. Sunday night was one of the longest of my parenting career. Pretty much in a nut-shell, Thayden spent most of the night throwing up. I seriously feel like a mom now! I took him to the Dr’s on Monday, luckily we were only a few minutes from his Dr he originally had when he was born! He’s all better now!
Tuesday, Lindsay and I flew from Salt Lake to Raleigh, NC. The flight was fine, and the kids did great. The only problem was that as soon as the wheels hit the tarmac, Thayden threw up on me 3 times, all over again!! Lindsay and I spent the next few minutes cleaning up and I changed Thayden back into his regular clothes (he was in PJ’s).
Other than that, I’ve just been unpacking. Lindsay and I did a Sam’s Club run on Wednesday, because there was absolutely NO food in the house for the boys to eat!! They had been wingin it for 2 days!!

I’m truly excited to be here, and I’m so glad that Shane has a job and I’m able to stay home with Thayden. The weather is beautiful, its humid, but only a little more than WA or CA. Lindsay and I have gone on a walk with the babies pretty much everyday. We always see APX people out. The complex is really small, so we are all just a minute or two away from each other.
OHHHHHHHHHHHHH. Thayden took steps!! He took like 5 steps on Sunday!! It was soooooooooo exciting. He is still really wobbly, but he is sure trying hard!

After bedtime

Well, Thayden went to sleep about 30 minutes ago and I feel like I finally have a break. I've been meaning to catch up on blogging and let everyone know whats been going on. We have about 3 weeks left in the semester, as of tomorrow! I will graduate in 10 school days! Can you tell I'm excited? I picked up my cap and gown last week and its hanging up in my closet. I'm totally nervous about everything that has to go on between now and then; pack up the apartment, a final, and 2 projects due.

I was fortunate enough today to make a photo shoot with some friends. The theme was Doll Face, it was really fun. Shane put my hair in curlers again so it would be all beautiful and full. The twist to the theme was that after we took beauty shots we got struck by lightening! Black makeup and crazy hair. I feel so grateful to have great friends around here to get me out of the monotonous routine I'm in.

Thayden is getting his first tooth. I can feel one that has poked through and I'm eagerly awaiting more! My little baby is becoming a little boy! He is also standing up on anything that will hold still and loves to eat anything we do!

I can't wait to see my family and to be officially done with my degree. Ohh...and the summer!

Shane thought it would be really funny to let Thayden empty the ENTIRE contents of our entertainment center. Luckily I was gone and it was all cleaned up by the time I got home!

5 weeks until graduation!

Ok, well, I am still alive and we are still here in rexburg. Thayden has been keeping me extra busy the last few weeks. He's gone from army crawling to crawling on all fours to standing up on things and it is just going so fast. He got his first ear infection 2 weeks ago, probably the first of many knowing how many Shane and I had. He is so adventurous and wants to know about everything around him.

Shane and I are doing well, we have both been really busy with school. I'll graduate in 5 weeks! I still can't believe that my secular learning is near an end. I absolutely love school and being able to continually learn new things. I'm extremely sad to see so many of my friends moving away. We're just doing a fake out! We'll be moving out for the summer but back for 1 semester this fall! Ohhh yah, did I tell everyone?? We're going to NORTH CAROLINA! Yahhhhh! This will be our 3rd year with APX, and we love it. All the new adventures and moving, what a better time than when our family is small!

Shane is still finishing up his school, we're hoping he'll get an internship for next fall/winter and be able to graduate. He's really liking the business side of construction management. He's put together a mock business plan for a company he wants to start. I'm really hoping we'll be able to put this all to good use in the future!

I absolutely love being a mom and all the joys and anguish it brings me. I truly wish my family was here closer so I could have a hug and smile when I need them most. Every time I think about NC I get butterflies in my stomach for the great adventure I'm sure we'll have this summer. I hope this finds you all well. We love you!!

One of my busiest days I can remember: crabby baby, photo shoot, Dr. Appt to find out he had a double ear infections, 45 min at Walgreen's, and dinner at G-Barons. I had an amazing time with some great friends having a tea party. We got all dressed up and just had fun being girls and getting our pictures taken. Definitely more to come, but I was so excited to see this that I had to link so everyone could see!!

Well I thought I should update you all on Thayden's 6 month adventures.

He was 89th percentile for height 27 1/2 inches and 76th for weight 18.1 lbs. Dr. Watson said to keep doing what were doing because he's looking good. Thayden can now army crawl, every day he gets faster and more efficient at it. I still can't believe that its been over 6 months, he still seems so small and yet huge when I compare him to his newborn clothes. Everyday has been its own challenge and learning experience, but I think he's no worse for the wear.

Luckily we were able to get pictures taken of Thayden when we were in Washington. Thank you Irene!

Thayden is just becoming a wonderful little man, he wants to know and be included in everything. He thinks eating new foods is the coolest thing! I loves to snuggle and give me kisses. It melts my heart when I see him sleeping or he reaches for me. I'm so excited (and nervous) to see where our future takes us and what surprises Thayden might through our way.

Hey everyone. Sorry for not updating in a really long time but its been crazy. This isn't much of an update but I wanted to explain real quick. Shane is going to school full time and has classes before and after my two. My only 2 classes are swamping me, they have a lot of stuff that comes with the classes.

Thayden is getting so much bigger. He is scooting and will definately tell you whats on his mind if he has an opinion about something. I'll post stuff from Christmas and such when I get the pictures. We spent Christmas break in Wa with Shane's family and had a totaly blast. I really missed my family and it was my first Christmas away from home. Thayden is 6 months, but more to come on that later.

I hope that this finds everyone well. I must secretly say that I'm totally excited for all my friends have babies!! I really just needed to say that.

Ohh, and please everyone, keep baby Joshua in your thoughts and prayers.

A week of being thankful

Wow, what a week we had. Our little family had a whole set of new adventures last week. We drove down to Utah Friday evening and hung out with family until Saturday afternoon where we had Thayden’s first airplane ride! I must say I was 150% prepared and Thayden did a great job. Although we didn’t know it a the time of the booking, but the flight had a stop in Reno, NV so Thayden got 2 plane rides before even getting to California.
The week seemed to go by really fast; it was full of bubble baths, baking and lots of eating! Thayden had a great time in the big bath tub with Shane, he wanted to eat all the bubbles! I had a lot of fun baking with my mom on our traditional Wednesday bake day. We made a pumpkin pie from scratch, triple chocolate pumpkin pie, and pear tart. It was tiring, but totally worth all the yummy treats to eat.
Thursday was a very full day! Apart from it being Thanksgiving, it was also my dad’s birthday! So we had a double celebration with all my family. We had lots of talking, laughing, presents, and picture taking. I am so thankful we got to go and spend this quality time my family.
The week was way too short, but well worth all the effort. We left Saturday to get back to our lives and finish the semester out, hopefully the week off gives us a boost. It was great for Thayden to be able to spend quality time with my family, as well as Shane and I, we miss them dearly since we are so far away and can’t wait to see them again!

Carriage Ride

Monday night the Wink’s invited us to go on a carriage ride with them. It was so much to get out and do something as a family and with friends. The ride was about 45minutes long and took us around campus and around the temple. It was gorgeous out, with the sun setting and the weather was great. I even think Thayden might have had a great time. He wasn’t quite sure what to think of the horses and being in the carriage, but Shane held him most of the time and that helped. We are so grateful to have such great friends to make memories with and to be able to do fun things with!

Our Second First Date

Last week a friend of mine was talking about a preference dance happening the following weekend, thinking this would be fun but would never happen I casually brushed it off. A few days later we were talking again about the dance and how her husband and she were going and that we should go to. Still dreading the thought of leaving Thayden and thinking how the heck I could pull it off, I once again didn’t think much of it. The following day I get a phone call about doing a big group dinner and then going to the dance. Finally I was thinking, there has got to be a reason I am being reminded so much of the dance, so I caved in. After hanging up, a flood of emotions over take me; I can’t do this, I need to find a sitter, I have nothing to wear, what the heck am I going to make, etc. so, I get on the phone to a friend who graciously says she would love to look after Thayden, and looking at my fridge of food, I figure out a plan.

As Saturday approaches I still have this pit in my stomach, so I call the handy sister who knows everything, and of course I feel 100% better after talking to her. I knew I was leaving Thayden in good hands, it was only for a few hours, we weren’t that far, and we always have cell phones.

About 7pm Saturday night we drop Thayden off, I do a spin to show off my dress and shoes, and were out of there! For the first 3 minutes I question every action and every thought, I was so nervous about leaving Thayden. A few minutes later we get to dinner and all my fears just float away, and I realize that Shane and I are on our second first date.

It was so much fun to be with friends for dinner and we had a great time talking, Youtubing, and just being out of the house. After which, a few of us made our way over to the MC to go dance the night away!! It was packed to the brim in the ballroom, which of course means it was hot, but that didn’t deter us from having a great time. We danced like a crazy married couple and forgot about any other care in the world. Having that special alone time was just amazing. It was so great to have just the two of us and be around great friends.

An hour and half later Shane and I are getting tired, the heat is getting worse and we are starting to miss our little one. We make a gracious exit and leave to get Thayden. The whole way back to get him we are just grinning from ear to ear and reviling in the great night we’ve just had. After getting Thayden, and finding out that he pretty much slept the whole time we get home, feed him, and put him back to bed. Shane and I were so exhausted that we both crashed and slept until Thayden woke us up the next morning! It was a great time, and we were so glad that we went, its nice to have those quite moments to reflect upon how great your life is and how much love we contain in our hearts.

His first Halloween

This year, Halloween meant a lot more to us than normal. It was still a little goofy, but we had a great time dressing up Thayden. The saturday before Halloween we had a ward party where we carved our pumpkin and were able to mix and mingle. We decided to dress Thayden up in a costume we bought when we were in Florida Feb of '07. He was a Thing 1 from Dr.Seuss, which made a lot of since to us because he was our first child! Anyways, we had a lot of fun that night, it seems like most of our ward was there and dressed up in all sorts of silly costumes. Shane was a construction man and I was a farm girl.

Halloween night was a lot of fun also! Our apt complex always has a chili dinner and trunk-o-treating. All the cars line up in 2 rows right outside our building and we can go around to eachothers' cars, mingle, and get candy! It was great because we had the excuse of Thayden to get candy! that night Shane and I dressed up in our matching MASH pj's with boots and jean bomber jackets. It was fun dressing up Thayden again, however we had to quickly bundle him up as it got really cold. I hope to have more fun next year as Thayden might be able to understand Halloween a little better and be able to get his own candy. It was the start of a great tradition, and we hope to share more with you next year!

What a Wonderful Weekend

This past weekend was one I will not soon forget. It was a little hectic and totally emotional, but it was ours and I wouldn't change it for anything. My parents came up on Friday and Shane's mom got here Thursday night for our big baby blessing. All the planning leading up to it reminded me of a wedding party we were getting ready for. With all the invitations and people bringing food, I was so excited for the day to get here. Friday night we all went out for Chinese food in a hurry; Shane and I had to get to a baby blessing at the hospital. Then Saturday was spent shopping and getting everything ready for Sunday. It was so great to be able to have everyone together and see how much we could all love such a small child. Sunday was just an amazing day, apart from the frantic dash out the door, we had a great morning. Shane gave the most poetic and beautiful baby blessings that I have ever heard, blessing Thayden with wisdom and a desire to do well.

After church we had a big shin-dig at uncle Lydon's house. We packed about 50 people in the house and it was actually quite roomy. Thayden just hung out and stared at people while we were all googling at him. After the day turned into the night, my parents joined us back at our house for some reminissing before bed. It was so wonderful to have them here and to be able to share those memories. I sure wish I had pictures and video of me with my grandparents, that is always something I would have loved. Now I can make sure that we do it for Thayden and all the kids to come. I'm so thankful for everyone that was able to make it, and for those who weren't we hope to see you soon or next time!

A good nights sleep

Well, about a week ago Shane and I decided it was time to put Thayden in his room. It was a little nerve racking because I loved having him so close and I could peak at him at any time during the night, but he was sleeping well, so we thought it was time. The first night went well, he woke up twice, and I had to go into the other room to feed him instead of doing it in bed, but that was fine.
Monday night, after lots of playing, Shane put Thayden down in his bed for the night. At about 4 am I woke up in a panic because I hadn't heard all night! I went into the next room to check on him only to find that he was sound asleep. I went back to bed only to find that I couldn't sleep immediately because of the adrenaline rush. I had to get up at 7am for a class, and Thayden decided to get up about 7:15. He had slept from 10-7:15! It was a miracle. Shane later asked me if Thayden had woken up that night, I told him no and he commented that that must have been why he felt so rested. I too must admit that I got my first really good nights sleep since having Thayden. Two more nights have followed this routine and I hope like crazy that he will be able to keep it up. I'm so blessed to have such a great son and husband. I'm looking forward to our next step with Thayden; I'm hoping for a laugh soon and for him to roll over. We'll keep everyone informed on all the new developments.

Almost settled in

I must say that moving with a 7 week old baby is definitely a new adventure for me. This past week has been a test of my organizational skills and still learning how to be a mommy. I did feel up to the task, and I think so far I have done a great job at it.
Last Saturday Shane's uncle helped us move into our new apt, along with some guys from the ward and other family members, they were able to move in 1/2 our apt in less than an hour. It was great to be back, but the daunting task of unpacking again seemed not as much fun this year. We are really excited to be back, but our stuff seemed to have babies while we were gone and everything has multiplied. We only added one kid, yet we seem to be to our eyeballs in stuff and we're having a hard time finding a place for everything. Now, 5 days later, our apt in looking pretty decent and I have actually put up some decorations. The bad news is, we have yet to find the hardware to put together our kitchen table! I just can't seem to find it! Anyways, the past few days have been exciting, getting to know new neighbors and seeing old friends.
We're both looking forward to this new semester and can't believe how different school feels with a baby. We took a walk to school on Tuesday, it was a lot of fun to get out. The new bookstore is amazing, it is so beautiful and bright. I can't believe how much the school has changed in the past 5 months. The huge auditorium is almost framed in, the addition to the MC is looking pretty complete, and the school is looking bigger than ever.
Thayden is doing great, everyday he seems to smile more and be more interactive. He's holding his head really well, Shane has even butt balanced him! We can't believe how big he's getting, we're already having to pack away some of his newborn clothes because he is just too long for them. I can't wait for when he chunks up and gets all the rolls.
Everything else is going pretty well, we hope to keep everyone updated with whats going on and more pictures of Thayden.

Six weeks later...

Well, its been six weeks since the birth of Thayden. If all were normal, this is anything but. Living out of a hotel room for the past 2 1/2 weeks has been anything but the best time. Other than watching TV, I'm pretty limited to what I can do. The mornings are nice because I can go out and get a few errands done before Shane has to go to work. Thayden has been a great baby, he really only cries when he has gas, poopy or needs to eat. I couldn't have asked for a better baby and he is such a trooper through all these changes. Shane's company had a bunch of people leave this morning because they were starting school, everyone who was staying, got to stay in the same room; except us! This was okay by me because it was for a good cause, the president of our church and some colleagues would be staying in that part of the hotel! So, while Shane was on a job, I packed up the room and his boss helped me move everything to a new room.
This whole experience is one I hope to look back on and smile, being able to live in a hotel room and learn how to take care of a new born is no easy task. There are many things I could have never believed I would be thinking about or doing. Thayden is such a great baby, all the poopy diapers and crying are all worth it when I see him smile. I can't wait to get back up to school and have a real home again, this semester should be the most memorable yet!

Almost Ready!!

Well, Shane and I are anxiously awaiting the new arrival of the little one. Pretty much everything is ready; we have the swing up, clothes washed, and stroller put together. The only thing left to do is put the car seat in the car and grab my hospital bag. I still can't believe that 9 months has gone by this fast, it seems like just a month ago we looked at the double lines on the pregnancy stick!!
Shane is doing great at his job, Monday he got 3 installs (the only one who did) and jumped a bunch of people. Since they started this new area last week, he's been a lot busier which has been great.
The weather has definitely warmed up, most days are around 95-100. It doesn't really affect me because I try and stay inside most of the time, but on the occasional shopping trip, I can really feel the heat!! I feel so bad for Shane who has to wait around between jobs in this weather.
Anywho, I hope to keep this updated a little more, letting everyone know about whats going on and the baby!! Hope your all well.

Up and running

Well, Shane was on a role last week. He was able to install 13, which ties himself for the best week this season. He is still number 1 in the office with 56 installs going into this week. I'm so excited for him! He's not liking the waiting, or the heat, but when he gets those jobs hes all over them!
Me, I'm hanging out. I was able to finally start my wedding scrapbook. Jilene and I were able to hit up Joann's and get some stuff on sale. I really like working on it, it reminds me of that special day and all the fun we had. There are some great candid shots I hope to incorporate. Its been fun trying to set up some of the more themed pages, so much that goes into it!
I waiting for the office secretary to come by and check our apt, APX needs to have clean checks so they won't get fined at the end of the summer. I hope to get a lot more scrapbooking done this week and maybe even find a swimsuit so I can hang at the pool! I have my next doctors appt on Friday, something else to look forward to! Hope this turns out to be another busy week!

A slow day

Well, our first blog post!! Yah!! I thought I would get on the band wagon and get a blog too.
Yesterday was Shane's slowest day yet. It was pretty urke-some for him because he left at about 10:30am and didn't get a job until 9pm! Needless-to-say it wasn't that great of a day. The whole office only got 8 accounts. Corporate called and wanted to know if we were even working today! Shane spent the day with the techs. at a park, and they were all pretty bored I guess.
I spent most of the day with Jilene and Ryan, Shane's cousins. We went for Thai food then to Kyle's birthday party (Shane's cousin and best man at the wedding). Afterwards we hung out and watched the Indiana Jones marathon. It was pretty late by the time Shane got back.
Last week while I was out with Jilene I got new handles for our changer/dresser. They look really good, I had to get really creative since I couldn't find anything to match the holes.
Thats about it for our life right now, hope to talk on the phone soon!
